Congratulations to the Bruins for taking out the 2006/07 title in one of the most exciting games of hockey we've ever had at Puckhandlers.
Game 3 of the best of three series went the distance with the scores locked at 2-2 after regulation time. Neither team could find the back of the net in overtime and after 65 shots in total only four goals had been scored. Chase Miller or the Inferno and Jeremy Muir of the Bruins had been nothing short of remarkable with Miller making 33 saves to Muir's 28.
However, the shootout was all Bruins as Liam McKay, Ben Batterham and Cam McKay all scored on their shots, while only Jono DeBoos scored for the Inferno as Muir saved Jamie Sketchley, Ant Collins and Travis Woods giving the Bruins an unassailable lead only half way through the fourth round of shots. It was the second time in team history that the Bruins have managed to win the PHL championship and an all too common occurence for the Inferno to finish runners-up.
Career stats for players up to the end of the 2006/07 season are now available. Travis Alabaster is set to break the all time record for points set by his former captain Karl Bryan early next season. Goalie stats will be available shortly.
